david will call the campers ‘ little ducklings ‘ as he sees them being vulnerable and easy to slaughter . they follow him like a mother duck , one by one they take his footsteps to be led into a trap . if you listen closely in the middle of the night , you can hear the cries of a fooled child that followed a smiling stranger into the dark and unforgiving woods .
watch out for david , little ducklings . he’s always watching .
david knows everything about sign language because his father was deaf and
he learned to communicate with him . he wasn’t even forced to learn it ,
this bad child learned asl to talk with his dad because he didn’t want him to
write everything . or for his mother to translate . as he became older , he realized
that he has had to use it quite a lot in his life . either with strangers or with campers
that came to his camp who were deaf or mute . one good reason why he was hired , other than having been a camper there once himself .
